To celebrate National Protect Your Identity Week (October 17-20), access your knowledge of activities that may put you at high risk for identity theft.
- Do you put documents with your name and address on them in the trash or recycling bin?
- Do you carry your social security card in your wallet or have you provided your number as an identifier to anyone, such as your doctor?
- Do you use obvious passwords, such as your date of birth, pet’s name or mother’s maiden name?
If the answer to one or more of these questions is “yes,” you could be putting yourself at risk for identity theft or fraud.
Now is the perfect time to take action and protect yourself. Visit our online resource center. You’ll find valuable information that can help you reduce your risk of exposure, detect fraud early, and respond quickly if you feel you are the victim of fraud.
