The Federal Trade Commission’s Consumer Sentinel report lists the received by the agency in 2011. For the 12th year in a row, identity theft complaints remained the number one gripe for consumers.

Consumers often think thieves steal identities only for financial gain.  However, there are numerous other reasons thieves can take a liking to your identity – for medical procedures, tax refunds, and more.
